THE RAGGEDY DOLL IS COMPLETE

Hi guys!

I promised I would post a pic of the raggedy doll I was making for my friends baby shower when she was complete.

Well here she is completed and I think I am happy with her. I made a few changes from the original pic I showed you, but that was because I just wasn't happy with her. I just had an overwhelming feeling to go with these other changes. I gave her green eyes and changed her hair style. I really like the colour of her dress I think it is bright and cheerful which is perfect for a baby.

The doll will also have a little booklet that I will hand make to go with her. I thought it would be a nice idea, since it is a keepsake doll after all, to have all the details of bubby's birth in it that the mother can fill out after baby is born, such as date of birth, time of birth, weight at birth...etc. I know I would cherish something like that so I hope my friend does.

I am glad to be finished making her though because I hate making things for the people I know, it is too stressful. I don't know if it is just me but I never feel like it is good enough when it is for someone I care about. I always think they arn't going to like it or will laugh at it. I guess that is just me lacking in self confidence.

Let me know what you think of her. Thanks :)

I hate making things for people I know too, but for different reasons :p (they are always more bossy then other customers because they think because they are a friend they will get away with it :/ no they will not :p)

she turned out lovely :D nice bright colours and I like how you did her hair. the little booklet is a great idea, adds a really lovely personal touch to the doll

My goodness...isn't she adorable!! :) I love how you paint the eyes. I know that I would be thrilled to receive such a lovely gift from a friend...especially if she made it just for me. :) I understand the dilemnia. I often hestitate to give my art in the fear that others won't appreciate or like it. It is indeed a labor of love. :)
