MONDAY'S PHOTO OF THE WEEK

I am a little disappointed because I wanted to get some really nice pics to share with you on my first Monday of the week photo post, but it didn't work out so well. On Saturday Alex and I decided that we would go for a bit of a scenic drive out to the country area to go up a mountain. I thought I could get some nice pics to share with you while we were there, but as we started up the mountain the car started over heating so badly that we could even hear the water in the engine bubbling. We both went into a mad panic and quickly found a safe place to pull over. It didn't look good, we were an hour from home, in the middle of the country, and it was a public holiday. We needed to get home so we turned on the heating vents to full power to try and release some of the hot air in the engine, and all though we got blasted with really hot air all the way home we did make it home. By the time we got home we were dehydrated and upset that our day trip was ruined. I did however get a couple of shots out the window on our way home, but I apologise that they aren't any better.

FUN AT THE PARK

It is Easter school holidays at the moment for my little brother Aaron, so he came and stayed with us for a few nights. We dropped him back home yesterday and I already miss him. He certainly made the house a bit more lively. It was great having him here and on Saturday we decided to go to New Farm Park to do some drawings and play a few games of ball. When we got home Alex cooked us a delicious barbecue. I hope you like the pics.

LATEST EDITIONS

I hope everyone had a happy and safe Easter this year! I spent Easter Sunday with my family playing games and eating. It was a lovely day and we all had heaps of fun. But unfortunately the break is over so it is back to the grind.

I have had a break from sewing dolls these past couple of weeks with some painting instead(which I have greatly enjoyed), but this week I was back behind the sewing machine. I thought I would share with you a couple of pictures of my latest dolls. I haven't given them names yet either so if you have any suggestions on names which you think may suit them I would love to hear them. I hope you like them!

They really start to take on their own personalities at this point

A sneak peak

MIXED-MEDIA PAINTING

I have been busy mainly drawing in my sketchbook this week. I have been trying to come up with something of my own that I can use as a subject in my mixed media paintings. I did come up with a human figure that I think is unique and interesting. I wanted a character that I would be able to portray emotions through. I am sure as I go along in my art I will progress and hopefully get better. I decided to try out my new character today outside of my sketchbook, so I set up my painting desk and have been at it most of the day. I haven't quite finished yet but I thought I would share some of my progress so far and maybe even get some advise.
