OUR ARTIST'S WAY - CHECK IN WEEK 2

How are things going for you this week with your Artists Way journey?
Things are still going well for me this week. I haven't had much time to concentrate on the book though and only got around to reading the second chapter yesterday. I have been really busy organising and packing things for our house move this Saturday.

I find a lot of what Julie Cameron says really hits home with me. It has made me more aware of the people and things around me and the impact they have. I have definitely had crazy makers in my life who have always made everything about them. I didn't realise at the time what this was doing to me, but I can see it so clearly now.

Did you do the morning pages?
Yes, I did my morning pages everyday. I am actually starting to really enjoy doing them. I am definitely feeling more clearer and focused since doing them.

Did you get to do an Artists date this week?
No, I did not do my artist date. Unless you count packing boxes by myself. I really wanted to do it this week and feel like I let myself down. Hopefully once this move is out of the way I can get more organised.

What about the set tasks at the end of the chapter? Did you complete any of these? if so, would you like to share or discuss?
I have been doing my daily affirmations and I believe these are really helping me to focus on the positive rather then let the negative thoughts take over and bring me down.
I haven't really been able to finish the other tasks yet, but intend to as soon as I am settled.

What lives did you discover this time round?
1. Singer
2. Aura reader
3. Dress maker
4. Photographer
5. Craft shop owner

Did you get to go on a walk with your inner artist?
No, I didn't do this either :(

I didn't think you'd get a chance to post this week's Artist's Way with packing etc. for the big move on Saturday so, good for you, Shell. I like #2 on your imaginary lives list. :)

Good luck with the move. Must be so exciting to live close to your mum who is on the same wave length as you. You both are going to have some great times in the studio.

Aura reader! That is my alltime favorite alternative life!

And it's pretty amazing you've done as much as you have in the midst of a move. You must be very disciplined :)

Packing to move pretty much trumps just about anything else in life, I'd say! I'm impressed that you were able to get morning pages done every day-- I think those really count as a good amount of work on this journey. Hope your move goes smoothly!

Hello, Michelle! I did morning pages quite a while ago, and I must admit that they really helped clear the "clutter" in my head. I watched a special about a Polish (I think!) artist/sculptor (sorry, her name is long gone!) who wrote down her dreams when she awoke. She said it helped her creative process. I believe her--her work was so unique and amazing. Now if I could just remember her name!

Wow, congratulations on managing to do so many tasks besides packing and getting ready to move.
Reminds me that there are really no good explanations why I do not manage to do certain tasks. When you are committed, you do it.
Good luck with your move!

Boy, I think I lost my comment, very frustrating!
So again:
Congratulations that you managed to get so many tasks done even with your move ahead of you. That just shows that if you are committed you just do it. Gave me a reality check.
Have Luck and fun with your move!

With so much on your mind, I really don't know how you got this done too. :)
You are really organized and motivated for sure. :)

good luck with your move. I would like to show the giraffe painting but my inner artist is still a bit shy, so it will be later in the process...
one of my lives was a singer too. aura reader is a very interesting choice, I wonder what my aura would look like. I hope it looks like the rainbow, bright and happy.
I feel the same way about affirmations, they help me a lot, I am less doubting myself.

Michelle,

I am starting a new weekly project where I will showcase a blog artist called "Tuesday Talent". I would be honored if you would allow me to feature you in one of the upcoming weeks.

Please drop by and let me know if you would be OK with me doing this.
